Content of the testing

What is content of the testing?

Based on a material sample, we test the heavy metal content of your packaging material. Testing is performed according to the legal requirements specified in the Packaging Ordinance via microwave digestion and subsequent ICP-OES or ICP-MS analysis.

This ensures that your products do not pose any health risks to your customers due to Packaging Ordinance - heavy metals.

Test process

  1. Order at the online shop

    Configure your desired individual chemical test in the TÜV Rheinland business client online shop and send us your purchase order.

  2. Delivery of material sample

    Please note that you must send the number of test samples/material samples required for testing to TÜV Rheinland at your own cost. For the exact location, please refer to the accompanying note for the test sample.

    Please enclose the accompanying note for the test sample (attachment of your order confirmation) with your test sample shipment or, for large shipments, attach it on the outside of the outer packaging.  This allows us to quickly and easily match your sample with your order. Receipt and registration of the test sample happens at the respective laboratory site. The same applies for the weighing of the materials to be tested, which is based on the amount of the sample required for the test (material sample collection).

  3. Testing

    The chemical testing of the material samples is performed in our DIN EN ISO 17025 accredited laboratories according to legal and standard market requirements. The chemical testing inevitably destroys the samples, and they cannot be reused.

  4. Sending of test results

    Analysis of the measurement results and documentation of the results in a test report.
